Welcome to the JAMS Instrumental Music program! We currently enroll over 300 students, grades 6 – 8, in one of three bands and three orchestras. Our ensembles are curricular, meet during the school day, and students earn an academic grade. Every music class provides each student with access to developing and strengthening individual musical skills while also receiving large group instruction, regardless of musical experience or proficiency. Perhaps the most important benefits from participating in the JAMS music program are establishing personal connections, and the building of relationships that foster social and emotional skills for life.
**IMPORTANT!**Due to our school-wide enrollment and master schedule considerations, any student who plans to enroll in a JAMS music class, but did NOT audition, will automatically be placed in a Level I class.
Please note that although private lessons are not required for participation in any JAMS music ensemble, they are highly recommended to supplement the in-class instruction on an individual basis.
