Welcome to JAMS! We look forward to working with a new generation of musicians in our program next year.
All of our ensembles are curricular (meets during the school day and students earn a class grade), and within every rehearsal, each student receives an opportunity to develop and strengthen his/her musical skills as an individual as well as an ensemble member, regardless of musical experience or proficiency.
Prior to the SMMUSD campus closures on March 17, a welcome letter from the JAMS Instrumental Music program was mailed home to all 5th grade families in the JAMS pathway. For reference purposes, please click HERE to review the letter (in English and Spanish) that includes audition requirements for each band and orchestra.
Due to the distance learning modality for the remainder of this academic year, all placement auditions for the 2020-21 year will be submitted online via Google Classroom and Zoom platforms. Instructions for uploading videos will be shared with 5th grade students/families during the week of April 20th. Please click HERE for more information (in English and Spanish).
In consideration of our school-wide enrollment and master schedule planning, any student who intends to enroll in an instrumental music class, but does NOT audition will automatically be placed in a Level I ensemble.
Please complete the Google Form below if you are a new family to the 2020-21 JAMS Instrumental Music program. Thank you!
