Yamaha MusicEssentials/DonorsChoose
The JAMS Instrumental Music program has received significant project funding from DonorsChoose, the online charity organization that supports public schools from across the country with much-needed materials and experiences for students.
With many generous donations from our JAMS community, along with those from the Chevron Corporation and the Yamaha Corporation of America, our projects were fully funded, thus benefiting our string, woodwind, brass, and percussion students with essential materials and equipment needed. Our DonorsChoose projects specifically caught the eye of the Yamaha Corporation, and consequently, the JAMS Instrumental Music program was featured in a short video that emphasizes the importance of music education in our schools. Yamaha "Welcome to Orchestra"
In addition to being the world's largest manufacturer of musical instruments, the Yamaha Corporation is also widely known for its music education programs that began in the 1950s.
The first step of a musical journey often starts with a child asking about different instrument options. For many families, there are questions about how to begin the process of choosing an instrument that is compatible for their child as well as exploring the supports that are needed to foster growth and inspire confidence for a successful musical experience. Yamaha has created a number of resources for parents who want to encourage their child into entering the world of music. The JAMS Instrumental Music program was invited to participate in a brief video that showcases all the instruments of the string family (violin, viola, cello, bass).
