Welcome to JAMS! We look forward to working with a new generation of musicians in our program next year.
All of our ensembles are curricular (meets during the school day and students earn a class grade), and within every rehearsal, each student receives an opportunity to develop and strengthen his/her musical skills as an individual as well as an ensemble member, regardless of musical experience or proficiency.
In order to place your child in a John Adams music class that is appropriate for his/her proficiency level, we invite your child to prepare a 5-minute placement audition on his/her instrument. The audition, which will take place during your child’s music class during the first two weeks after spring break, will enable us to meet with each student musician, assess his/her skills, and decide how our program would best suit his/her musical needs.
Participants of Elemental Music will be invited to audition prior to an Elemental rehearsal (at Grant or Rogers Elementary Schools). Due to our school-wide enrollment and master schedule considerations, any student who plans to enroll in an instrumental music class, but does NOT audition will be automatically placed in a Level I ensemble.
All new students will receive a yellow form after their audition requesting their contact information which can also be submitted by completing the form below:
